“There is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and it will be lost.” – Martha Graham
I used to sit at my desk at work and think about when I could go home and paint because I wanted to paint, all the time. I like to paint miniature paintings; small surfaces where every stroke of your tiny little paintbrush counts. I don’t know why. I just do. It’s fun. It feels good! If we find that one thing that we want to do all the time, that is the interest, passion or curiosity we should allow to fill our lives.
I discovered I am inspired by nature; certain landscapes that move me. When I was sitting at that desk at work, I was living in a big city. It wasn’t very inspiring. Still, art was like a little flame inside of me that burned and burned and once I left the job and the city and enveloped myself in nature, the flame burned bright. I have been traveling and living on the road for a year now, and yes, I paint all the time.
Some of my miniature canvases. Inspiration: American Southwest. Cactus. Succulents. Desert night sky. Starry skies. Red rock landscapes.
